Why In-home Child Care?

A good family home child care can be a great alternative to center care. Home childcare often appeals to parents who want their child in a warm loving home environment. It is comforting and reassuring to kids and they usually have smaller numbers of children than most centers. Your child has all the comforts of a home, only with other children to play and socialize with. Kids have a consistent caregiver and other consistent people in their environment. Your children are exposed to fewer illnesses due to lower child numbers and more sanitized and consistent cleaning. A good home daycare is one you feel comfortable leaving your child in. One where you are encouraged to visit unannounced anytime and feel comfortable roaming around any part of the home that is common area to the children. All areas of the home should be safe and appropriately childproofed. In-home caregivers often become an extended part of your family and an important person in your child's life.

The troubles with SPRING!

Well, it is spring time. The trees are blooming, the flowers are popping and the eye's are itching! A couple of the kids seem to be suffering from a touch of hayfever. If your child suffers from this sort of thing please bring a child's allergy medicine for them to keep on hand here at daycare. Some good ones are Children's Zyrtec, Children's Claritin and kids Benadryl. Just remember that the benadryl can make your kiddo very drowsy.

Also just another reminder that if your child is over 6 months of age they can and need to wear sunscreen. Even if your child has dark skin or skin that tans easily, they still need sunscreen. Even african americans do damage to thier skin when they do not apply it. ALL skin can be dried out, broken down, darkened and damaged. I need for each one of you to bring in a bottle to keep here. I really prefer the spray ones that come out in a mist. From my experience they work just as well and when applying it to several kids at a time it goes on much quicker with less mess. It is more expensive though, so if you want to bring the more traditional lotions, feel free.

Also a water bottle for outside play and a brimmed hat of some kind to keep the sun off little heads and out of eyes.
